When is a string not a string?

One of the things that appeals to me about Z© is that it has rules that you can follow in any way your little hands feel like following them at the moment. My last few tiles, then, somehow were made with Strings That Are Not Strings.

I started with my four dots. I usually connect them with straight-ish lines (A) or irregular lines (B).

This time, however, I watched my hand connect the first two dots with a string-like line. How odd, I mused, and then I had a tile with lines OR strings, but not both. String-like lines. Strings That Are Not Strings.

I may keep doing this for a while. No reason.
